What's a Fanlisting?
A fanlisting is like a webclique, except you don't need to have a website, but websites
are always welcome. It's where fans of one thing get listed. Like a club, but less work, and no dues to pay.
Why het?
Because nobody else would. I felt like, since there was a fanlisting for slash and femslash,
then there could be one for het. There are lots of people who like both slash and het, femslash and het, or like all three.
Even if in real life there's more straight people, and in the shows and stuff guys hook up with girls, in fandom, het is poorly
represented, and at times misrepresented.
What is het?
Het. Derived from Heterosexual, meaning Male/Female. Het is a super-genre
of fanfiction and fanart that covers the relationship/romance mega-genre.
The semi "synonym" for this is Gen, which is derived from the word General,
but I don't think that "Gen" describes het, as "Gen" has come to mean "Not relationship-focused."
Why the title?
Basically, the title is what het is.
Boy-meets-Girl stories, art, and fellow fans of the stuff.
And there's no shame in liking them.
Which is why this place is here, to show that there isn't any shame in liking het at all.
At the end of the day, it's all about love. And that's what this fanlisting's about, too. Love, friends.
